“Aru Archipelago, beauty about to be lost forever”
“I wanted to show you a little of what we will soon lose forever, this video was shot earlier this year on my brief visit to Aru
It was in the Arus that the great naturalist Sir Russell Wallace wrote for the first time his thoughts on the faunal differences he’d observed during seven years of travel through the Indonesian archipelago.
It is were the fauna of Asia and Australasia meet.
Were else can you find the Tree Kangaroo, Black Cockatoo, and 4 species of Greater Bird of Paradise living in harmony ?
Before we have had a chance to get to know it, it will soon disappear for something as ordinary as a Sugar Cane plantation, this unique Island group should consist of a major National Park yet greedy developers will decimate it to the detriment of the local people and its awe inspiring wildlife.
Take a stand, join the people of Aru in saying no to this project” Aru Archipelago, beauty about to be lost forever
